The Energy Bus is a project developed by EDP in partnership with Terra Systemics and financed by the Energy Services Regulatory Authority (ERSE) as part of the Plan to Promote Efficient Electricity Consumption (PPEC).
Between 2007 and 2009, the bus visited not only large cities, but also more remote locations, where populations have less access to information. It visited 73 locations in 64 different municipalities, including 46 cities, 23 towns and 4 villages. It received 45,500 visitors of all age groups, from the north to the south of the country, and 19,000 pupils from 210 schools have already been welcomed aboard.
The Energy Bus is
e)mission neutral by cancelling the carbon footprint from its travels. Its greenhouse gas emissions are neutralised through investments in sustainable energy projects.
