Media

In modern societies, characterised by heavy media coverage, the media are the most effective means of keeping informed the different audiences with which organisations maintain relations. EDP seeks, through constant contact with the media, to ensure that the information flow accurately conveys, in a positive manner, the values and business activity of the company.

How we relate

The management of relations with the media follows two major lines of intervention: it is based on the management of matters considered to be relevant, and also on an educational component of information for these stakeholders.

EDP promotes a series of press conferences and invites the media to attend EDP meetings conducted with other stakeholders, such as meetings with customers or suppliers, reinforcing transparency in the steering of the processes of engagement with other key segments and disclosing more about the company and the way it conducts its business.

Existing Channels

EDP has a set of communication channels with the media available, according to the importance, durability and interest to stay informed, so that dialogue may exist at any time and in any place:

> The area of the EDP site specifically for the media, with easy access to company information and direct contact with various members of the EDP media team;

> Frequent press releases;

> EDP Media Day – held for the second consecutive year in 2010, brings together journalists from several national media bodies at an event where the Group's strategy in several areas is presented.

What we are told
