Portugal

Special regime generation activity (excluding wind) in Portugal is undertaken by EDP Produção. This business activity includes electricity generation though mini-hydro, cogeneration and biomass. As of December 2009, EDP had a special regime installed capacity of 200 MW in Portugal, out of which 52% from mini-hydro, 37% from cogeneration and 11% from biomass.

Spain

In Spain, special regime generation capacity (excluding wind) totalled 896 MW by the end of 2009. This business activity includes electricity generation though mini-hydro, cogeneration, biomass and waste. EDP Group has 155 MW of special regime capacity under operation, out of which 53% from waste, 41% from cogeneration and 4.3% from biomass.
