Ethics Ombudsman


A company's principles are reflected in the daily actions of its employees, suppliers, representatives and external auditors. Pursuing the goal of excellence that  guides  our conduct, EDP appointed its Ethics Ombudsman, Carlos Alberto Loureiro, in February 2009 in order to guarantee effective application of its Code of Ethics.

This communication channel with the Ombudsman abides by all the criteria of safety and confidentiality.

EDP Code of Ethics establishes the Group's principles and values so as to formalise them for all stakeholders and promote impartiality and transparency. It guides and  facilitates decision making, especially in situations of dilemma or pressure.

The Ethics Ombudsman plays an essential role in the ethics process. He guarantees impartiality and objectivity in registering and documenting all complaints of ethical nature submitted to him. He monitors their progress and ensures that the identity of the complainants remains confidential, while entering into contact with them whenever appropriate, until the case is closed.

The Company assumes its commitment to confidentiality and non-retaliation in its Code of Ethics.
