Ethics and integrity are essential for sustained success of the business and to exercise responsible citizenship, areas where EDP argues for exemplary.

The set of principles and values assumed in our actions, are embodied in EDP´s Code of Ethics.

Code of Ethics - Our principles and values

A company’s principles are embodied in the day-to-day activities of its employees and its ethical practices are usually a matter of mutual consensus. However, a growing number of companies have opted to state these practices explicitly in the interests of disclosure, transparency and impartiality.
 
In this context, EDP established its Code of Ethics in 2005. It covers all the companies in the Group and all its suppliers.
 
The Code of Ethics Regulations were approved in 2008, with an Ethics Ombudsman appointed in Febuary 2009.
 
Under the motto “We are what we do”, we have organized a corporate ethics training and awareness raising programme for all EDP employees, which had the following key objectives:
 
> Helping employees understand what it means to apply ethics in a corporate context;

> Teaching employees about the Code of Ethics;

>
Disseminate and reinforce confidence in the ethics “process” at EDP (organization, procedures and responsibilities) and improve their trust in ethical practices at EDP.

After the reflection / formation period of this program in Portugal, EDP has made an assessment of its current potential. The result of this assessment is in the éticaedp Program Case Study. The full version of this assessment was provided to all employees. The short version can be found here:
