EDP is recognized as an international benchmark in terms of corporate governance. This reality is a stimulus to the continuous improvement of its performance.
In this context and following a process of careful reflection and consideration, the General and Supervisory Board and the Executive Board of Directors approved the "EDP Corporate Governance Manual" (Manual), which is now available to all employees of EDP, its shareholders and other stakeholders.
The primary objective of the Manual is to record and share the common understanding of the two governing bodies with respect to the corporate governance recommendations applicable to the EDP, as well as to the guidelines which are deemed appropriate concerning their adoption. Thus, the starting point of the Manual was the “CMVM Corporate Governance Code", published in 2010.
Given EDP’s ambition in terms of the quality of its corporate governance practices, we tried to go beyond legal requirements and regulations in this area, particularly in terms of information reporting.
