On May 20, 2010, Barclays Plc ("Barclays") notified EDP to the decrease of a qualifying holding of 2.15% to 0.98% of the share capital of EDP. The change in participation was due to an off-market transaction, as a result of the disposal of  42,512,494 shares (1.16% of EDP's share capital) by Barclays Capital Securities Ltd on May 17th, 2010.

As a result of this transaction, Barclays now holds 35,978,096 shares, representing 0.98% of EDP's share capital and 0.99% of voting rights.
