Special regime generation activity (excluding wind) in Portugal is undertaken by EDP Produção. This business activity includes electricity generation though mini-hydro, cogeneration and biomass. As of December 2011, EDP had a special regime installed capacity of 324 MW in Portugal, out of which 48% from mini-hydro, 42% from cogeneration and 10% from biomass.

Spain

In Spain, special regime generation (excluding wind) totalled 841 GWh by the end of 2011. This business activity includes electricity generation though mini-hydro, cogeneration, biomass and waste. EDP Group has 142 MW of special regime capacity under operation, out of which 58% from waste, 40% from cogeneration and 2% from biomass.
