Electricity consumption growth from residential clients in Spain has been sustained. As for industrial clients, one has been witnessing a moderate growth due to a consolidation of the sector.

HC Energía's distribution network covers the Asturias (owning most of the region's network), Valencia, Madrid and Alicante, amounting to 22,652 km by the end of 2011.

In recent years, the company has played an important role in the continued modernisation of rural areas, participating in the successive Electricity Plans promoted by the Government of Asturias.

The number of electricity clients connected to HC Energía distribution network recorded an average annual increase of approximately 2% in the past four years. By the end of 2011, HC Energía distributed electricity to some 656,000 consumers.
